Raymond Douglas Bradbury (Waukegan, 22 agosto 1920 – Los Angeles, 5 giugno 2012) fu uno scrittore statunitense, innovatore del genere fantascientifico, nella sua carriera esordì anche come sceneggiatore cinematografico. Nel 1934, durante la Grande depressione, si trasferì con la propria famiglia in California, dove scoprì il mondo della fantascienza, tanto da iniziare a scrivere alcuni racconti sulle riviste del settore. Tra le sue prime opere si contano anche racconti polizieschi e noir.
